Daily shot of sleaze
The emmy awards 2016
Didn’t spend your Sunday night watching the Emmy Awards? Don’t worry about it. I’m here to fill you in on what went down in Los Angeles last night.
-This year Jimmy Kimmel had the honor of presenting the show. He had been kind enough to let all his famous celeb friends know that he wouldn’t be easy on them, however, there was one man who wasn’t easy on Kimmel either: Matt Damon. These two have been frenemies for about thirteen years now and after Kimmel didn’t win the award for Outstanding Variety Talk Series, Damon made his way to the stage to rub it in even more: “Oh, I’m sorry, this is so humiliating, I mean you lost and now you have to stand out here in front of everybody when you probably just want to go home, curl up and cry”. Maybe it’s time for Kimmel to properly invite him to his show…
-Not entirely surprising that the big winner of the evening was Game of Thrones. I’ve said it before and I’m going to say it again: watch it! Do it! You won’t regret it! Pinky swear.
-Actor Jeffrey Tambor from the hit shot Transparent in which he plays a transgender took the time let Hollywood know that they should invest more in transgender actors.
-Bing watched Stranger Things yet? Same story here: do it! The cutest (and youngest) cast in all of Hollywood handed out 7000 sandwiches made by Jimmy Kimmel’s mom to all the celebrities in the audience. It was immediately clear which celebs are sticking to a Hollywood diet and who just doesn’t give a rats ass.
-After 7 nominations, actress Sarah Paulson finally took home an award. She won the Outstanding Lead Actress award for her role as Marcia Clark in American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson. Her +1 for the evening was the real Marcia Clark by the way.
-The most frequent asked question on the red carpet is evidently: who are you wearing? Normal answer to the question would be the designers name. That’s exactly what Amy Schumer did, although she decided to give us a bit of extra information: ‘Vivienne Westwood (dress), Tom Ford shoes and an O.B tampon!’
-The most stunning women of the evening (according to myself): Priyanka Chopra (in a beautiful red Jason Wu), Kristen Bell (the ultimate floral princess gown), Sophie Turner (yes), Emilia Clarke (yes) and Kerry Washington (YES. Perhaps a little daring, but quite possible the coolest pregnancy look ever).
-The didn’t-quite-make-the-cut: Sofia Vergara (love her, the dress not so much), Sarah Hyland (top yay, bottom nay), Ariel Winter (yikes, a little too much Kardashian), Alia Shawkat (a bra might have been a good idea), Gaby Hoffmann and Jill Soloway (don’t know them but no and no).
Anyways, didn’t have time to watch the Emmy’s but still want to? Make sure to re-watch it on ABC.com.
