Our Girl in New York

The days are getting shorter. It’s even still dark out when my alarm goes off at seven in the morning and I start off with my daily routine of a cup of coffee to start off the day. And then there’s the winter coat. I can still wear it open, but I had to dive into the dark corner of my closet to fetch it. The thermo shirts, tights and snow boots are luckily all still in there. But give it three more months and all of the latter mentioned items will become daily regulars.

After lunch in a Gossip Girl-esque location with my Mexican friend at Bergdorf, we wandered downtown. I made a pitstop at Apple for a new phone. A black on in plus-size. But unfortunately I’m out of luck because it’s still completely sold out. So I went for strawberries covered in white chocolate instead. And obviously a photo before consumption…

I’m finally allowed to write about one of the coolest events I went to during fashion season: the launch of Aerin Tangier Vanilla. Estée Lauder’s granddaughter invited Amayzine to check out her new scent at The Nomad Hotel.

Surrounded by (hopefully) miracle works such as Advil and vitamin C tablets, I try to get ready for an event for Swarovski in Spring Studios. In honor of their collaboration with the very inspiring Céline Cousteau (who made the remarkable Tribute to Tribe documentary), Swarovski organized a cocktail party. On the sixth floor with an impeccable view and a room full of bling, but with just one message. Everything is sustainable and inspired by the nature and all its glory. And I tried a small glass of wine. Looks like I’m starting to feel a bit better…
