Travel & Hotspots

The fashion enthused week in New York has come and gone. And that meant the city was packed with people who work in fashion, lots of glasses of wine and cups of coffee, changing outfits about a hundred different times before setting foot outside the front door to head over to a morning presentation by Kate Spade. On the roof terrace at the NoMad’s Penthouse, where Beyoncé happened to have celebrated her birthday a couple days before, she created a Moroccan fairytale. Blue thinks that all the shoes and clothes in the room are his, and I just look around at the impressive view and wait until the Kate Spade fairytale commences.

Inspired by Marocco but never without the sweet signature touch of Kate Spade, she showed another stunning collection. Tassels, patterns composed of whites and blues and especially the color yellow were present in the collection. Traditional teas were being poured into our cups and snacks were being served. And all of that in the pink atmosphere made Kate Spade a success this season.

There. Time for coffee with my friend Q. And heck, why not a mimosa too. And the chocolate cake… We were seated outside on the Sant Ambroeus terrace in West Village, sweating like crazy. Okay, I don’t want to complain, because I’d rather have this then meters of snow, a red nose, and shivering all day. But god oh god, it’s hot! Anytime I’m outside my mascara finds it’s way down to my cheeks and my face turns a light shade of pink. Top combo for Fashion Week…

Vogue and Dyson invited friend and fellow-blogger Rebecca Laurey and I to get a blowout on Sunday. Only a mere few blocks from where I live I sat down in a salon chair and got to check out the supersonic blowdryer from Dyson. It seriously looks like a mini airplane engine. The thing is not only cool but it really does give you a mighty fine blow-dry and curls. The result: a beautiful bouncy head full of hair. Then it was off to Scotch & Soda!

The Dutchies! Lizzy van der Ligt, Quirine from Scotch and I were all decked out in floral and brights for the Scotch & Soda presentation. And the presentation was another hit this year. The collection really was a dream. And no, I’m not only saying that because I’m proud of our Dutch show pony this Fashion Week, but I’m saying it because it really is the truth.

After being enchanted by Scotch’s tableau vivant, it was time for wine and pizza. And nowadays you dod that at the immensely popular (especially loved by bloggers) Pizza Beach. And what goes hand in hand with pizza? Exactly: Pinot Grigio.

The girls from Amayzine are here! We meet up at May-Britt’s favorite (but also mine) Italian restaurant Morandi. While May-Britt’s  hubby took care of all the delicacies on the table, makeup artist Dominique Samuel joined our table. And yes obviously there was wine and everyone at the table cuddled with Blue. This lunch was by far one of the most intimate moments of Fashion Week. Which is now over and it’s time for me to pack my bags for Italy! Anyone have any tips for Florence and Cinque Terre? Incase you do, send me a message through Instagram! I’ll be forever grateful.
