YES TEACHER, NO TEACHER
Look, this is exactly what we like. Fontys Hogeschool Journalistiek Tilburg is going to work together with Grazia and is about to start a course in fashion journalism. In eight meetings, students will receive classes in theory, writing and they get to go on an excursion to Amsterdam Fashion Week. Classes will be taught by the likes of Hilmar Mulder (editor in chief Grazia), Cara Schiffelers (chief fashion Grazia), Rinke Tjepkema (chief editorial board Vogue) and Karin Kuijpers (editor in chief Metro Mode). I’ve got to admit, this sounds pretty amazing. I’ve always wanted to do fashion journalism, and I managed to succeed quite well, but I’ve never done such an amazing course. No, I studied Dutch and attended stuffy lectures on Medieval literature, linguistic cases on disjuncted subjects in the Limburgian dialect (seriously) and endless discussions about modernism and postmodernism. I enjoyed myself immensely because secretly I’m a big fat nerd, but still, lectures by the Hilmars and Caras of the world sounds inspiring. Do you agree? The course starts on 9 January and takes place in the Sanoma building in Hoofddorp. It costs about €750,- and everyone’s allowed to participate. Everyone? So I can too? May-Britt, are you reading this? I think I might go back to school…
