Looking around at the crowd for fifteen minuts before the show began was almost more interesting than the show itself. Almost!
I saw the Hilton sisters taking selfies, at least twenty photographers jostled around Jessica Alba and the complete jury of America’s Next Top Model sat neatly in a row.

‘I hope everybody will CELEBRATE LIFE AND BE HAPPY in a world that is so harsh, unpredictable and scary,’ Diane said in an interview just before the show.

Her collection for Spring 2014 surely makes everybody very happy indeed.
The models walked like power women; they were ladylike, confident and downright strong. Von Furstenberg always encourages her girls to smile and tells them her motto which is: ‘BE YOU’.

The show was colourful, easy, summery and it swung. Its theme was ‘oasis,’ a fantasy-journey through the desert. There were zebra-print jumpsuits, safari inspired linens, a desert ‘sandscape’ printed across a jersey dress and flowing maxidresses in colours named chili pepper and Aztec blue.
And there was a silk dress printed with lions and giraffes that I absolutely must have this coming summer.

Daft Punk pumped through the speakers, all front row designer heels tapped discreetly to the rythm and then Naomi Campbell appeared. Everybody went nuts. The room filled with energy and happiness. Just like Diane ordered. A Beyoncé song sounded as Von Furstenberg grabbed her catwalk moment (and held on to it for quite some time). She waved at everybody and kissed her husband in the front row. Happy!
