Everybody’s talking about
THE WINNING LOOKS OF TVOH
You probably had an office Christmas party (which gave you your incredible hangover today) or you were watching The Voice of Holland’s finale yesterday evening. And with you, two million sixhundredseventyseven others. Please. Because we took a step left and right, we did our utmost best to ‘use’ all of the delivered bottles of wine during our Christmas party, and so I watched the episode on my laptop this morning. I enjoyed Julia, and Mitchell, and Jill, and everyone. But of course my fashion-eye scrutinised all the great looks that the candidates and the jury had selected for their moment of Voice erm Fame.
Let me start with the winner’s look. I called this morning with Chantal Bles, the stylist that styles all the candidates of TVOH. “I think it’s important that the candidates of TVOH wear affordable clothes. It’s fun to dress them in clothing that other people can also buy. All the looks of last night were instantly sold out after the broadcast. I like that so much.” Julie looked very ‘Julia’ yesterday evening. Tough, but with a glimmer because that’s what she likes. “I wanted to do more toned down trousers for the final song, paired with a sparkling jacket. But during the penultimate song, Julia ripped her trousers. Nobody saw it though, but it was kind of a moment of stress when Julia had to sing her next song. Fortunately, I had these studded trousers back stage. She changed outfits in a record pace and was right on time to go on stage. It was kind of a lot with all the accents, but hey, a winner is allowed to shine, right?
During the penultimate song, Julia RIPPED her trousers.
The studded trousers in question were from ASOS, the sparkling jacket from 2Balou, a really cute store in Eindhoven with affordable items. The top is from Mango, and the boots from Steve Madden as a final touch.
And I’d also like to say something about Ilse’s look. It’s not a secret that we’re a huge fan of Ilse’s and her stylist Anouk van Griensven. So I also called Anouk this morning. It was back to business as usual the day after The Voice. “I’m biking through the rain with two kids that want to go shopping, May.” On her bike, yet still heading towards glamour since her daughter wanted to self-select her outfit.
She’d thought of Ilse’s outfit quite some time ago. And she looked so incredibly now in a sweater, skirt, ear piece (which is totally trendy at the moment. Get one for your Christmas dinner. You’ll be the bomb, trust me.) and those fabulous Alexander McQueen shoes.
Ilse, Anouk, I can’t say this enough. Of all the COMBINATIONS, you’re the best set.
“The sweater is from Manish Arora, a designer I also use a lot for shoots for Marie Claire”, says Anouk. “I was at Totem, the press office in Paris which lends me this brand, and they were so excited that Ilse was wearing it.” They gave me the sweater and ear piece. Ilse’s skirt is from Sandro, and so quite affordable. Stockings underneath that still allow a certain definition to be seen, and those fabulous shoes I recently held in my own hands at Shoebaloo.
Ilse, Anouk, I can’t say this enough. Of all the combinations, you’re the best set. And now I’m going to race to the PC to see whether those shoes are still waiting for me.
