MARC’S GIRLS

Catherine Deneuve, Gisele Bündchen, Edie Campbell, Sofia Coppola, Fan Bingbing, and Caroline de Maigret are the models that Marc Jacobs chose to shine in his very very very last campaign for Louis Vuitton. After 16 years of loyal service as creative director to Louis Vuitton, he announced that he was going to quit in October. And of course Marc won’t let this pass unnoticed.

The SS14 campaign images, which were revealed today, were dedicated to his favourite fashion muses, who we saw in a portrait gallery shot by Steven Meisel. The ladies pose with the most famous designs of the French brand, like the Noé bag and the bags with the LV monogram. Not much unlike the Mona Lisa, they stare rather mysteriously into the camera.

MJ’s concluding piece will be published in magazines in February. Afterwards, it’ll really be time to hand over the LV baton to Nicolas Ghesquière. Marc Jacobs will then focus entirely on his own labels. Au revoir, Marcel.
