Hurray it rains!

It can’t have escaped your attention that yesterday eight buckets of water per square yard fell from the sky. So I was very happy with my latest fashion find. You simply have to accept that, unfortunately, it rains quite a lot in Amsterdam. You can leave the house in your beautiful suede coat on a sunny autumn morning and find yourself peddling back home on your bike in the pouring rain a few hours later, with the ruined coat ending up in the garbage bin.

A sturdy raincoat is therefore essential in every Dutch wardrobe. But you also want to look good in the rain. And now you can, in a beautiful PIOGG raincoat. Owner of this Dutch fashion brand Daphne Gerritse was in Italy and noticed how everybody always looks chic even when it’s raining cats and dogs. That’s when she came up with the idea that in the Netherlands, we’re in dire need of a more stylish choice of rainwear.

The name PIOGG derives from the word ‘pioggia’ which means rain in Italian. All coats are 100% waterproof, comfortably warm and lovely to look at. Now that the rainy season is in full swing treat yourself to a PIOGG raincoat. Mine is already hanging on my coatrack.
