WE HEART SELFIES

Here at Amayzine HQ, we often hear a little cry when someone finds yet another bizarre/extreme/naked/you name it/ instagram photo of a celeb. Naked torsos, abs, closets that make you green with envy, numerous duckfaces oh, we’re hardly surprised at stuff anymore. The year’s almost over, which makes us feel melancholic, and so we turn to making overviews. This year ‘selfie’ was elected word of the year and so this list, bien sûr, is about selfies. May we present, the most noteworthy selfies of the past year. Let’s start with the climax: Kim K 2.0’s bum. Love her or hate her, the photo got more than a million likes and from the Daily Mail to NOS and nu.nl all discussed it. We’ve also got James Franco who succumbed to the naked-selfie-trend and who was happy to participate (though we don’t mind). Of course there’s room for Miley without eyebrows in this list. And thankfully also the incredibly gorgeous and sexy Doutzen Kroes who is trying to keep all the hungry groupies away from hubbie Sunnery James by shaking her booty in front of her skype camera. And Beyoncé, who surprised friend and foe with her new pixie coupe. Or Michelle Obama. When serious political figures start to make selfies then you know it’s not very hip to do it anymore, but still a great shot that deserves a spot in this list. Oh Lord, I almost forgot Craig David. The best singer who lisped the sultriest songs is now mostly famous for his marvellous instagram behaviour. Finally, two women who take any opportunity to strip and show themselves to the world. Personally, I don’t really understand why, but okay, Nicki Minaj loves it. The other is Heidi Klum. Yeah, you’re blessed with a gorgeous body but do you have to continually fake subtly show us? Oh well, the selfie, what was life like without? I can’t wait for next year.
