5 benefits of morning exercise.
Every Tuesday and Thursday my alarm goes off at 06:45 and I feel like chucking it out the window. “No way am I getting up and into my gym gear and going to boxing class.” After two snoozes I finally drag myself out of bed, jump on my bike a few minutes too late and arrive sweating at the gym at 07:30. I’m glad that it’s still light in the morning, but I have no idea how I’m going to do this in winter.
This is a rather early call for training, but I wouldn’t get to work on time otherwise. Shower, what the f**k to wear, breakfast, you know the drill. Sometimes I change my mind and decide to go after work, but that never happens. Just plain finished, too tired, hungry or whatever.
Let’s be honest here, even though it’s extremely difficult to get started in the morning, afterwards you feel like you can take on the world. That feeling makes it all worthwhile.
5 benefits of exercising in the morning
– You feel healthier and more energetic if you’ve worked out in the morning, You have less sweet cravings through the day. “It’s a shame if I am misled by sweets now, my training session will have been for nothing.” Something like that.
– Perhaps a little obvious, but you’re finished with it for the day. More space for spontaneous dinner appointments and dates. No more “sorry, I can’t. I need to go to my spinning class.”
– Exercise equals endorfine. That makes you happy and euphoric. What better way to start the day?
– If you go for an early morning run your brain wakes up. It’s good for quietly thinking and planning the day ahead and maybe even making a mental to-do list. Your day starts organised.
– Maybe not the most tasteful reason, but exercise in the morning is good for keeping you regular. I don’t know, but it’s important to me.
