AIRBNB’s finest
One of my bad habits is my total lack of concentration. Honestly, I have the natural ability to concentrate for two seconds, and spent most of my time on unimportant things. The British tabloid the Daily Mail, for example, and before I know it I’ve spent hours looking at photos of trashy women, of who I’ve never heard. Other things that scream for my attention are sites that manage to satiate my hunger for beautiful homes. If you’d ask about my hobbies, I’d tell you about going to “Funda.nl and set the price range to a minimum of 2 million and then check out houses”. I won’t ever have 2 million euros in my lifetime, but hey, a person’s allowed to dream. I’ve got another hobby that comes close to this one and that’s Airbnb. I’m not about to go abroad, but here too a person’s allowed to dream about. And because I’m generous, I’m sharing with you six beautiful palaces that I bumped into during my Airbnb sessions. Absolutely unaffordable, but that’s not what it’s about. Did I already say that a person should be allowed to dream?
1. Sleeping in a clock
Look, this is exactly what I like. No boring hotel rooms, but sleeping in a building of which tourists take pictures all goddamn day. Complete with library, sleeping arrangements for three people, and the ability to also book the ‘master bedroom’ (in which the owner’s currently staying) so you’ll have the entire clock to your own https://www.airbnb.nl/rooms/501171
2. Loft in Soho New York
We fell madly in love with New York, and I’d like to spend the night here on my next trip. Four people can stay the night so divide the price by four and it’s actually quite doable. The second bedroom has its own living room and en suite bathroom. https://www.airbnb.nl/rooms/406031
3. King of the castle
You’ve got to go to Golspie in Schotland, of which you’ve never heard of course, but now you know that this castle’s to be found there you might consider a two way ticket (or one way ticket, even better). Golspie has never been so attractive. https://www.airbnb.com.au/rooms/322613?af=1148800&c=direct_link
4. Le roi du château
Even more castles though now in La France. And what a castle this is, it doesn’t get more pretty than this in life. I’d like to wander around the place in a hoop dress with corset, and yell a bit to my staff only to gallop away on my horse with flapping manes. Chased after by a passionately handsome prince. Bien sûr. https://www.airbnb.com.au/rooms/562857?af=1148800&c=direct_link
5. Swimming pool with view
Looking over the sea with an infinity pool, oceans of space and a very tight interior. This is the place to give parties at with movie stars, dipping your toe in the pool whilst taking a sip of Dom Pérignon, and waiting for your cook that’s putting the lobster and caviar on the table. https://www.airbnb.com.au/rooms/483889?af=1148800&c=direct_link
6. Prettiest in Paris
This apartment. I just can’t shut up about how beautiful I think it is, especially because of the glass roof that’s been made of the exact same material like the Eiffel tower. There are five bedrooms that can contain 10 people, so for those good in maths, it means €103,- per person, per night. And that’s not too bad. So, who likes to join? https://www.airbnb.nl/rooms/2633963?guests=9&s=s7-m
