OUR BOYS IN PARIS

First it was time for the craftsmanship of Schiaparelli, Dior, Chanel, and Gaultier, then it was time for Viktor&Rolf to show yesterday at eight o’clock. They revived their couture branch last year after a break of thirteen years. Yesterday evening was as spectacular as last year’s impressive mindfulness show. There was again some meditation, but now backstage rather than on stage, and now for half an hour instead of during.

The models were replaced by ballerinas. They had similar silhouettes though these ladies knew how to work pointe shoes. We saw a lot of skin coloured dresses with tattoo prints, both demure and provocative. Pat McGrath was the chef de cabine of the makeup, and Luigi Murenu booked Ilham Mestour and Rachel Geerman for the hair. Rachel shot a wonderful backstage report between frizzing hair.

Everyone responded with “speechless” on Twitter. And rightfully so because the show, hair, makeup, and ballerinas… everything was equally beautiful. Without words but with a healthy appetite, our Rachel enjoyed a verre de vin and some French chips after the show. Today, thankfully, she’s already coming back home by train to give us mortals a front row coupe.
