It’s the May holiday and I’m doing a weekend of Berlin at the moment. It’s all great except for the fact that the sun isn’t shining. I hope you’re packing your bag, erm, suitcase to also enjoy a week of sun. In order to make things easier, here’s a checklist of beauty items you definitely need to pack. Not only great but also quite useful.

Checklist

1. As the sun hasn’t really shown itself, I’m advising you to use a self-bronzer. It doesn’t only protect you, but also makes sure you instantly look like a native at your sunny resort. You at least don’t stick out like a sore thumb. This cream’s for the face, but they’ve also got one for the body.

2. Yes, it’s true, your hair can sunburn too. So spray a bit before going heading towards sunlight and you’re sure you won’t come home with some straw on your head.

3. Go to a manicurist before your holiday to apply a great gellac on your nails, which makes sure you’ll nails look taken care off for about 3 weeks. Or, if you like some variation like me, take with a couple of nice colours. OPI has got colours that last for quite some time and won’t disappear after the first surge of chlorine and sunlight. They’ve also got a mini bottle, 14 ml, which means you get to take with several bottles. And it means varying colours.

4. To make sure you won’t get out of the water looking like a panda, a good mascara’s simply a must. Waterproof, that is. With this Clinique, you’ll survive any dip.

5. Tweezers aren’t quite an unnecessary luxury. You’ll won’t be bothered with excess hairs.

6. Great protection against the sun which also prevents skin ageing. It’s waterproof and matte, which makes sure you won’t get a shiny forehead. The after sun care is also great. This one calms, repairs, and hydrates. Oh, and it contains bronzing pigments which make sure you’ll be able to enjoy your colour for quite some time.

7. Underneath the eyes, the nose, and the forehead are all spots which easily get sunburnt. Just roll this stick on those spots and you’re done. And trust me, this one won’t give you those elegant white warrior stripes.

9. 3 luxury products in 1. Le Jour for during the day, La Nuit for during the night, and Le Weekend for, well, the weekend of course. A great set of 3 creams in travelling size of 15 ml. There’s no need to part with that luxurious feeling whilst on holidays.

10. A spray and you’re fresh again without having to jump in the pool.
