Never leave the couch again

Since summer is making us wait, there’s absolutely nothing stopping you from hanging out on the couch, zapping through the telly for an entire afternoon. Yes, it’s time for a day of binging on TV series’. Make sure you have plenty of pillows, a comfortable tracksuit, a blanket to dive under if it gets too exciting and of course plenty of food, snacks and sweets.

Orange is the New Black

Waiting for Season 2 lasted a LONG time but about a week or two ago Netflix aired s02 in its entirety online. Where producers normally only air one episode per week, this entire party was shown on the net, in one delicious bite-sized chunk. Meaning many have charged through the complete season in a single sitting and rightly so. Orange is the New Black is the story of Piper, who gets stuck in a women’s prison because of a stupid mistake from her past. The series is honest, funny, touching and incredibly addictive. Perfect for binge-watching.

Borgen

Our dear Josselin is in the middle of Borgen Season 3 (Episode 5 to be exact) and “can’t wait to watch the next episode”. But she will have to wait, cause she usually watches with hubby, who is tied up with the World Cup at the moment. See what I mean, stupid-World Cup. In Borgen, we meet Birgitte Nyborg, the sympathetic prime minister of Denmark. Loads of intrigue, deceit, deception and political games guaranteed to keep you glued to the couch.

Breaking Bad

The series of all series, anyone who doesn’t know Breaking Bad isn’t worth mentioning. Walter White is a chemistry teacher who finds out that he is terminally ill. A surprise baby on the way, a teenage son at home and wife doing okay but not earning nearly enough to pay the looming hospital bills. To avoid her ending up in financial hot water after his death, Walter turns to a life of crime as meth dealer, together with his dropout student Jesse Pinkman. Nobody knows what Walter does, not even his wife, as the first small and clumsy meth-deals grow to unimaginable proportions with all the consequences to boot. I’ll say it again, those who haven’t yet seen Breaking Bad aren’t worth mentioning.

Damages

When Damages Season 1 first aired, I hid indoors for three long days. Seriously, I cancelled appointments for it. Damages explores the gritty legal world and the lead character is a lawyer that is constantly pushing the boundaries of the law. A suspect murder, funny-money, lies and deception – this series grabs you, spins you around and then spits you out.

New Girl

This show gets me laughing out loud. Laughing with noise and stuff. When Jess’s boyfriend cheats on her, she goes in search of a new home. She ends up living in the apartment of three single men, Nick, Coach (who is later replaced by Winston) and Schmidt (Schmidt is the one you’re going to love most). Jess is played by Zooey Deschanel, which means not much can go wrong.

Prison Break

First aired on the box in 2005, and believe me even now it’s still lotsss of fun. I’ll let you into a little secret, I’ve already seen all seasons twice, but I recently re-started watching from s01 and it’s still extremely exciting. For those who have been living under a rock, Prison Break is about Lincoln Burrows who is sentenced to death for a murder he did not commit. His brother Michael Scofield gets himself locked up in the same prison as Lincoln aiming for an escape together. Good plan, but obviously it doesn’t go quite that smoothly and they need at least till s04 to really shake off the authorities who desperately want to see them behind bars or six feet under.

Sex and the City

Well, it can’t be left off the list. All our editors have seen every single episode, but it never gets old so we keep watching.
