CELEBRITIES AND THEIR TWITTER MISTAKES
When I was trying to find Kim Kardashian’s tweet about not wanting to broadcast her wedding because of privacy, I discovered that she removed the tweet. She wrote that she didn’t want to have cameras present at the ceremony because “privacy is our main priority.” Of course the internet had to laugh really loudly because she’s the number one person in the world who has shared it all. Suit herself, of course, but don’t tweet such things. The fact that she erased the tweet has gone quite unnoticed, which happens, but luckily, the Internet never forgets and there are always people quick to make a screen shot. That’s why for our daily portion of Wednesday afternoon fun, we’ve made an overview of the most controversial, deleted tweets of recent years.
Hulk Hogan
The wrestling legend and former reality star of the MTV series Hogen Knows Best (confession: I’ve endlessly watched that series), posted a photo of his too blonde daughter Brooke. Fine, of course, but it was kind of a titillating photo captioned: “Brookes legs.” Bit odd.
Rob Kardashian
Did you know that Rob had a heated relation with Rita Ora a couple of years ago? They broke up because she’d cheated on him with about 20 men, something that greatly affected Rob. A lot of angry tweets to which Rita responded with: “Rob’s dick was wack, I had to get it somewhere else.” Ouch. Rob RTd the text with “So you let me get your pregnant and yo let others hit raw,” but not long after he pressed delete.
Kim Kardashian
What’s in the water of those Kardashian houses? Kim wanted to show her political side and posted “praying for everyone in Israel” and afterwards “and praying for everyone in Palestina and across the world!” Her lack of historical knowledge wasn’t welcomed and even though she quickly deleted it, the damage had already been done.
Mary J. Blidge
A couple of years ago, a lot of controversy surrounded Mary who lied about attending Howard University. This tweet didn’t help her trying to sound intelligent.
Courtney Love
Lana released a Nirvana cover last year entitled Heart Shaped Box. Much to the chagrin of Courtney Love, Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain’s widow. She explained to Lana what the song was about (erm, her vagina) and asked Lana “next time you sing it, think about my vagina will you?”
Alexa Chung
Almost two years ago but still remembered clearly by many: Alexa tweeting about a sex dream with Karl. Karl Lagerfeld. Yes, I know. Alexa was startled too a couple hours later and deleted the tweet. I’m curious whether Karl ever saw it.
Katy Perry
Professional loony Russel Brand posted this photo of Katy on his twitter when they were still happily together. She, of course not amused, forced him to remove this no makeup photo. Perfect reason to file for a divorce, I’d say.
So boys and girls, be careful with what you tweet, more people may be reading it than you’d think.
