Beauty report

CELEBRITIES HAIRSTYLES

I also love summaries, lists and everything that goes with them, just like May and Lies. I mean, it’s so much fun to write everything from the last year down in points. I have the honour of presenting the beauty part. And because celebs never have problems taking a scissor to their hair, while we spend weeks thinking about it (thank God for hair extensions), I’m kicking it off with celebs who deserve the Look of 2014 award.

Last year we saw many pinks and purples pass by, but the celebs kept it simpler this year, more minimalist and easy going. No more fuss with difficult styles, but more looks that could be kept up at home in front of the mirror. Or, in the case of the celebs, done by someone else in front of the mirror.

I must admit I’ve always found Taylor Swift’s hair very cool, and only dared to take a scissor to my locks when she moved on to the Lob (Long Bob). She has a natural wave, but I need to use the curling iron, but let’s not go there. It suits Taylor. It’s tough, sexy and a little rebellious.

Reese always wears it to the side. Either a little nonchalant, or incredibly chic. And the latter, is something she should always do. A side parting, thirties curl and the rest well shaped. And shake off the Legally Blonde image.

Jourdan went for the bob this year and it suits her. She started the year with the trending bob, lob and crop and is still rocking it. Extremely feminine and her hair looks super healthy.

Jennifer has fortunately let her pixie cut grow out and left that rock-stage behind her. She also has a bob. Her face gives it a more classic edge, but wow can she wear it.

If there is one mentionable person who has had many looks this last year, it’s Beyoncé. She started with tightly woven hair, then she had the bob (I personally thought it was the best look), then she cut a fringe at doll-length, which did not look very now. Long live extensions, and it’s all back on again and she’s back to the Destiny’s Child look. Although she’s placed a firm two-point-zero behind it, because it looks better than ever.

Bad girl Rihanna also always has styles that are questionable, but one time she turned up on the red carpet with the classic ponytail. For a change. Sounds simple, but isn’t. It was extremely long and she wore it with a fringe for a classic, sexy and feminine look. So Rihanna, I hope you’re reading this, because that look deserves repeating.

She’s left the Spice Girls far behind. Posh Spice is no more. Hello classy lady. This long style and perfect soft waves suits her fabulously. Oh and the shine, that shine. That completes it.
