DIY: ALMOND SHAPED EYES
The weekend is around the corner. And of course you’d like to begin with a bit of red, white, and blue makeup, but you of course want to do it well, stylishly, and chicly. Then choose the Les 4 Ombres eyeshadow of Chanel. It’s an eyeshadow palette with intense colours and high pigments. Liesbeth got a beautiful look from Judith Neyens, makeup artist from Chanel. Pay attention because you’ll look royal tomorrow too. Chanel’s the rightful purveyor to the world of beauty.
PREPARATION
Cleanse your face entirely. Even if you only had on a bit of makeup, you need to remove everything. You’ve got to start on a clean skin because everything will look much better. Also use a great cream, for instance, the Hydra Beauty Nutriotion. It nourishes the skin. Then choose a foundation in the colour of your skin. Judith chose Vitalumiere Aqua 30 beige for Liesbeth.
EYEBROWS
Eyebrows are essential for nicely done eyes. Brush them upwards to make sure they’ve got the right shape. From the nose upwards and following the course of the hairs. Judith uses Le Sourcil from Chanel on Liesbeth. Make the brush a bit moist for the best effect. Start at the beginning of the eyebrow and sketch thin stripes, like hairs, to get the most natural effect. Don’t completely colour it in, but leave some space in between hairs. When you’re done you’ve got to brush them again.
ALMOND SHAPED EYES
Almond shaped eyes are already beautiful by nature, but with the right techniques you can emphasise their beauty even more. Judith used Les 4 Ombres Tissé Rivoli 226 on Liesbeth. Pay good attention because it requires a bit of skill.
- Begin with the lightest colour and apply it on the inside corner of the eye.
- Take the darkest colour of the palette and apply it halfway the eye until the outer corner of the eye. This accentuates the almond shape of the eyes nicely. Always start at the lash rim and work upwards. Also blend slightly at the arch.
- For a surprising effect, Judith chose a beautiful blue metallic eye pencil: Stylo Yeux Waterproof Blue Metallique 909. Apply it on the lower lash rim from corner to the middle. The metallic shimmer gives it a festive feel and glitters beautifully in sunlight.
MASCARA
The golden tip before applying mascara is to curl your lashes. It seems like such a hassle, but it’s done in five seconds and gives it its curl. For a dramatic effect (because that’s what we want in this case), apply Chanel’s Le Volume Mascara on the upper and lower lashes. With almond shapes eyes, you need to draw the shape of the eyes with the mascara. So outward movements. It matches perfectly with this look.
BLUSH AND LIPS
The look’s almost finished. Apply some Le Blush Crème de Chanel Intonation 69 with the tips of your fingers. It blends it nicely with the foundation which makes it all look very natural. With the rouge Coco shine on the lips, the look’s completely finished.
