Part I
Whenever you see me, it’s more than likely with make-up on. That’s about 90% of the time, because I save my make-up free face for my closest friends only. When I leave the house, the least I have on is a touch of Le Beige from CHANEL.
My skin’s pretty good, honestly. My cheeks and forehead though are another story. My chin and nose can get red. And in cases of panic, ruthless deadlines or unhappy loved ones, it tends to get irritated. A spot that wasn’t there a second ago, can suddenly decided to permanently take up residence.
When it got to the point of wanting to attach a drip with Clinique’s anti-blemish to my chin, I decided it could no longer go on. I called up my skin-friend Jetske Ultee and screamed: HEEEELLLPPP.
A long correspondence followed with as subject: The Crime Scene. Jetske asked me to send a non retouched photo of my make-up free face. Preferably zoomed in on the, erm, panic zones. Even though these images made me want to throw myself off the nearest roof, Jetske was thrilled. She loves skin situations. Because she’s got the tools to improve them.
We worked together on it, and really went all the way. Our aim: a skin that can go without foundation. Unless I want to wear some. According to Jetske, we will succeed. And quickly, like by this summer. Follow me through my journey, because even though your skin’s probably better than mine at the moment, this will make you glow.
