And then another week passed. A week that started with cancelling out workout on Tuesday because I’d drunk a bit too much wine the evening before. I went to Robbie Williams’s concert together with my dad and that one glass of wine accidentally became a couple of bottles. Oh well, one workout fewer and a great evening richer seems like the perfect score. Before going into the week in bullet points, there’s the following matter. I keep bumping into people with questions about the Killer body project. Especially when they see me eat a biscuit / candy / have a glass of wine /carbohydrates, or whatever, I’m usually asked “oh, are you allowed to eat that?” Like Jet always says “I’m allowed everything.” And that’s the truth. That fucked-up attitude with being allowed (or not) to eat something doesn’t work for me. Neither does it for Jet. We already said at the beginning that it should remain fun, and we’re sticking to our guns.
Personally, I’m accepting more and more that I lack discipline entirely and love to eat candy. I’m not a top athlete, I like to eat, biscuits make me happy, wine even more, and beer’s also way too much a party to realise with every glass I drink that ‘it’s just like a sandwich with cheese.’ The dream and desire to a have a perfect body’s still there, we’re really jealous when we see all those pretty, thin girls on Instagram, but the realisation that we won’t ever get to that point sinks in slowly but surely. Here’s the week in bullet points.
- It already went awry on Monday, but Jet utterly failed to upkeep our regime on Saturday. Her dearest friend’s going to backpack through Asia for three months, and that had to be celebrated. Or, well, had to be processed. Processed and blocked out. Wine and vodka until the early hours of day which means a pretty hungover start of the week. But hey, it was worth it.
- I find myself in the kitchen more often, and this week I prepared a ‘super quick goulash’ with which, if you don’t eat it with potatoes, is nothing wrong.
- Jet discovered the RAW Bite bars which are perfect snacks.
- Our early alarm clock’s such a hard thing every day. At night I’m always looking forward to the workout, but when the bloody alarm clock goes off at 7 in the morning, I only want to throw it out of the window, myself afterwards.
- I’ve got test weeks the upcoming week (yes, I’m still a student at the UvA, it’s a never-ending story, but these really are my final six credits), and studying is often combined with bad eating habits. Usually out of self-pity because I’ve been rotting away in the University library from 9 till 23.45. A biscuit helps enormously and an entire pack even more.
- The detox starts on Monday. MONDAY. The whatsapp group with our coach has been made and the box filled with powders and pills awaits us. I was, and still am, absolutely petrified.
Until next week!
