Let me tell you this, we’re really done with Destination Killer body. The ‘deadline’ of 1 July approaches steadily, which makes us feel as though we’re already almost finished. And everyone knows that this is exactly the moment it all gets tougher. We’re nowhere near the fantastic bodies we aimed at, something with discipline and a too big love for food and wine, but soit, because the most important rule: it should remain fun. And fun it was and still is. I’ve undergone quite a transformation. Up until two months ago, I’d always roll my eyes when someone started talking about quinoa or chia seeds, and now I can hear myself say: ‘let’s add some goji berries to my smoothie.’ You see, it happens. The week in bullet points.

–       Last Friday and Saturday I went on a press trip with Moët et Chandon to Eperney, and the games at Rolland Garros (hello Rafael Nadal). We were pampered immensely with star dinners, star lunches, and of course glasses of Moët aplenty. Not very killer body proof, but hey, it’s Moët et Chandon! And how is a person ever going to say no to that! Not me, definitely not me.

-I had dinner with my dear friend R on Tuesday night. We felt like an exploration and decided to go to a farm in Amsterdam, somewhere hidden in the Westerpark. They serve whatever they’ve cooked that evening and so I ate some pasta again since a long while. Which I noticed when my stomach began to growl and rumble. Oops.

-The workouts went really well this week. We were doing a good job, didn’t wake up too tiredly, and we felt like kicking ass all day, really.

-Contributing to this positive attitude are my brand new Lorna Jane sweatpants. I used to use H&M ones, which were fine though ugly, but I’ve noticed what new sweatpants can do for you. It’s really supportive, it makes your legs less sticky, and I look very sporty spice and damned thin. Add to that my awesome blue-green leopard print top and an athlete was born.

-Jet left for Nice on Thursday morning. She plans on spending her days eating fabulously and lying on the beach for hooouurss. But, Jet wouldn’t be Jet if she didn’t also pack her workout gear and skipping rope. She’ll run every morning with the skipping rope within hand’s reach.

-I’m leaving for Paris on Friday evening. Without sneakers and definitely without skipping rope. I may happen to like goji berries these day, but there’s a limit to how far I’m willing to take this. I’m mostly planning on devouring cheese, french bread, and wine.

-Jet and I were invited to Rens Kroes’s first cookbook launch on Wednesday afternoon. We were invited to an intimate lunch where we got to taste the first few dishes. I usually care very little about cookbooks, but I leafed through this book and saw so many things I wanted to try out. The recipes are good, very healthy, and easy to make. I’m actually looking forward to making some dishes, what has happened to me?!

See you next week!
