GLAMOROUS organic cosmetics, iT exists!

Health is such a trending topic. My colleagues are going to do another detox session to be able to hit the beach toned and fit. I’d like to make an impression too on the boulevard, but rather with a great makeup than all that working out. So I submerged myself into the world of green cosmetics. These days, we’ve become so aware of what it is exactly that we put on our faces (and put in our mouths) so I was curious about what I would find.

Dr. Hauschka is a brand that’s been doing so incredibly well for years, what, decennia when it comes to natural skincare products.  They – rightfully – won last year’s Beauty Astir award for their shower creams. Let’s go back into time about 75 years. WALA Heilmittel GmbH, founded by Rudolf Hauschka, created medicines from medicinal plants, all according to an anthroposophical vision in which the balance between mankind and nature is central. A great idea and since 1967, WALA also applies this medical knowledge and experience to all these great products from Dr. Hauschka. They’ve got an extensive line with body oils, cuticle care products, to eye creams, lip balms, and facial creams.

Back to organic cosmetics. It was a small step. Dr Hauschka’s spirit remained unchanged. It became increasingly important for the brand to make sure nature and cosmetics were still in balance and made everyone prettier than they already were. They added a makeup line in 1999. The products were inspired by the skincare products and based on the same ingredients and arrangement. Karim Sattar, Dr Hauschka’s makeup artist, sees the makeup line as the Rolls Royce of the beauty world. All makeup products from Dr Hauschka combine first-rate oils, waxes, and silk powders with selected beneficial plant extracts, from euphrasia to witch hazel. They use clover in all the makeup and skincare products by the way. The calming and harmonic effects make the plant quite important. So let it be clear that Dr Hauschka really has great products.

Makeup artists, experts of medicinal plants, and specialists in organic cosmetics are highly involved when they create products for their cosmetics line. The powders, lipsticks, and eyeliners should be able to mix so that a lot of different combinations are possible. The Rouge Powder in a ‘soft terracotta’ colour might be mixed with ‘moss green’ eyes and full lips with ‘nature shimmer’.
