I party therefore I am

(And now to find a dress)

This edition of Diary (I write from Friday to Friday, you know that right?) begins as I am recovering from a long Televizier Award Gala. In the meantime, Liesbeth and Jet are all worked up about ADE. Yes, the Amsterdam Dance Event. So while I’m hanging out on the couch, photos of people are plopping into my mail, of them smoking and stuff but I’m not mentioning names.

It was unusually quiet across from me this weekend, and on Monday I heard a yawn almost every hour, and they didn’t even try to hide it! Meanwhile we’re working (hey, we’re an online medium, we are always working, also during holidays I can assure you) and in-between posts we surf our way to net-a-porter (me) or the outnet (Jet). Because the what-to-wear question is still the predominant one here at amayzine HQ.

The party-book is chock-a-block at the moment. Olcay Gulsen organised a dinner and I luckily got away with a great cat-suit and my mattelassé. Jet and Liesbeth went to the Hermès masked ball, and then next week it all breaks loose.

Monday is the finale of Holland’s Next Top Model, which we’ve all been waiting for. Except for Jet. She’s got better things to do. Like going to the premiere of ‘Pak van mijn Hart’, a film directed by her brother Kees. Quite a good excuse. They’re both in Hilversum so who knows, we might end up dancing all together anyway. On Thursday it’s the amayzine.com celebration and that alone calls for an appropriate outfit.

We are keeping ourselves thin by running (great because all these loan dresses are sample sizes) back and forth to the door to accept packages. It took three (!) delivery sessions before Jet had her perfect Pak-van-mijn-hart shoes from DvF in the correct size.

Liesbeth is the only one that has known what she’s going to wear for weeks already, but still has to decide on the shoes. I have three gorgeous Gucci dresses hanging in the safe, so if I only eat salad this weekend it will all be fine.

To complete the circle, I’m ending with a hangover image. Liesbeth has found a place for a power nap. That Hermès ball is taking it’s toll. Twingo proved itself a true friend, and offered her a bed comfortable enough for a woman of 1.82m.

Now I’m off to check on the bags for the fries for our party. They’ll be filled with Rozeval fries and truffle mayo, and I’m dreaming of them already. Let’s hope that Gucci dress allows one or two.

Happy weekend!
