It’s spring and what feels better than for a freshly single woman filled with amazing and unworn designer items to go for a clean slate by having a closet sale and donating the proceeds to her favourite charity?

Which is exactly what Gwyneth Paltrow did last weekend. The green goddess picked out 23 top pieces from her closet and motivated her fashion friends, amongst who Miranda Kerr and Kate Hudson, to do the same.

The clean out started last Thursday on her lifestyle website Goop, and the opportunity of soon possibly walking around in Nicole Richie’s silver Louboutin sling backs ($300) or Beyoncé’s custom made boots from Stuart Weitsman ($2500) was taken up by many. Everything was practically sold out within a few hours and the sale made a sloppy $16,000. Those feeling like they’ve missed the boat can still buy Chanel muse Caroline de Maigret’s purple BLK DNM coat ($700) or Gwyn’s Carolina Herrera bag ($950).
