Hip kidDies on Instagram

Today we’re introducing the hippest kids on Instagram. For example, the identical twins Michael en Daniel from London. The brothers are not yet three years old and have a cool 60.000 followers on Instagram, thanks to their cute outfits. Identical clothing, identical poses, cute faces, it’s becoming a world hit. And then there is the six year old Alonso Mateo that get’s dragged around in extremely slick outfits by stylist mama Louisa, from here to there and from fashion show to terraces on L’Avenue.  Even posing with Anna Wintour is child’s play for this kiddie.

Good, leave it to me to have a good moan, but I am not so sure what to think about this phenomenon. Something deep inside me is against showing your kids off this like. You can’t tell me that Michael and Daniel decided at 2,5 years of age, “so we’re going to start dressing in exactly the same clothes and posing and then posting the pictures on Instagram, so we can become super successful and everyone will think we’re cute.” That all came from mama’s mind and now mama is rolling from interview to interview and receives bag’s full of free stuff. All good, but not terribly chic me thinks.

Alonso apparently chooses his own clothing out (source: his mom) and Michael and Daniel also love spending hours choosing clothes out (source: their mom). In the meantime, many more fashion-kiddies have appeared and this phenomenon has evolved into quite a thing. The hippest kiddies are all gathered under the account Fashionkids, which has around 2,5 MILLION followers. So for everyone with a ticking body clock, you too can benefit and who knows maybe you’ll have a baby or toddler who you can take your styling aspirations out on. Success!
