Viktor&Rolf get good company

Viktor&Rolf have long been the only real Dutch designers that get the royal red carpet treatment overseas; but they’re about to get some female company. Iris van Herpen is seriously looking like the new kid on the fashion block.

She has already showed several times in Paris and received praise, honour and applause from Suzy Menkes, yesterday she won the Andam Award in Paris. And that’s not nothing.

She gets to build and expand her label to the resounding amount of 250.000 beautiful euros. Aside from that, Francois-Henri Pinault (yes, Selma Hayek’s hubby, the father of Linda Evangelista’s son, CEO of Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent to name a few, whom together with his family is worth a sloppy 15 billion euro) will mentor and advise her for a year in the art of finance, communication and production. She’ll also be getting 10.000 euros of Swarovski crystals and can show her collection twice in Galeries Lafayette.
