KATE DRESSES LIKE A ROYAL

They’re done with their tour through New Zealand and Australia, and besides baby George’s shiny lead, it’s now time to critically discuss Kate’s looks. Queen Elizabeth gave her the assignment to say adieu to her high street labels and to adopt a more regal look.

FEARING PRISSINESS

I was quite fearful at first. The rather rock ’n roll deprived Kate in even more official outfits didn’t quite sound like music to my ears. Goodbye style icons, hello prissiness. I thought. But Kate remained Kate. Better even. She went through an amazing style development. First of all, hurrah for her planning skills. Have you ever had to pack your suitcases for three weeks? Well? It’s different if you’re going backpacking down under in a couple of jeans and tops then when you know The Entire World’s looking at you through magnifying glasses. Amongst who, myself.

KATE CHOSE UK

Despite all the speculations that Kate would choose too many Australian designers, she mostly chose British brands or designers from another origin but who’re all London based. Especially her yellow Roksanda Ilincic dress (which William said made her look ‘like a banana,’ making Kate laugh) and the green coat from Erdem (which William thought ‘too bright’) resulted in a popping cork and accompanying purring in casa Mobach.

HEELS IN THE SAND

Rücksichtlos she combined her cream coloured Zimmerman robe with high wedges from Stuart Weitzman for a trip to the beach. Not everyone understood the heel sand combination, but I couldn’t agree more with Kate. Marilyn Monroe already said it: “Give a girl the right pair of shoes and she can conquer the world.” And that’s exactly what Kate’s doing. She already has got me.
