Courtney Stodden and Doug Hutchinsons
Okay, I know it seems as if I have an obsession with pathetic men and their child brides (case in point, Peter Jan Rens), but it’s not that bad. Having said that I would like to introduce you in this edition of Collection of Curiosities, to the phenomenon known as Courtney Stodden and Doug Hutchinsons. Courtney is 19, he 54, and they married (!) when she was 16 and he 51. Here, a little space I reserved for the shock: [ ].
Yes, are we back? Good, let me first introduce you to Courtney. She may only be 19, but she looks like a woman of 45 that is desperately trying to look like someone of, yes indeed, 19. Courtney has more plastic in her body than Marijke Helwegen and she’s proud of it. Her breasts are especially, let’s say, apparent. It’s difficult to find out exactly what she does, but Wikipedia says something about ‘Television personality’ and that’s also how she refers to herself on Twitter. Her ‘career’ started with pageants and then modelling jobs. She’s been seen in a few real life series with darling Doug and she even took part in the British version of Celebrity Big Brother in 2013. There were a few films but nothing worth mentioning, the critics didn’t even bother to take the time out to write anything about them.
When Courtney turned 16 she signed up for an acting workshop given by Doug Hutchinsons. Doug is not a totally unknown actor, he played a convincing role in The Green Mile and had a steady character in the series Lost. Okay, most of his roles have a slightly sinister feeling but still, he did quite well. Until Courtney wandered into one of his classes. He had no idea she was a teenager (understandable since she looks closer to 45 than to 19), and they became close through chats and emails, falling in love during the 5 month period before they had even started seeing each other. His family and the agent dropped him immediately when the relationship became public, her mother didn’t mind and accepted it. You have to know that her mother is a rather unsuccessful type, and is more than happy to project all her frustrations direction daughter dear. So a medianly successful actor that wants her totally talentless daughter, absolutely fine!
And so it happened. Doug and Courtney got married, with legal permission from monster mom. But oh, oh, no-on saw this coming, after 2,5 years of marriage they split up. Friends of course assumed that it was the age difference. Maybe it was to do with Courtney’s totally insane BFF, or maybe due to the fact that Courtney paraded around in dresses that only almost covered 1 nipple, or that she always wore 38cm shoes that she couldn’t walk in.
But whatever it was, it wasn’t enough to keep them separated forever and about nine months after the break up, they got back together! So yes, all’s well that ends well. Now tell me, aren’t they just the cutest?
