After two weeks of full force Holland’s Next Topmodel, it’s time for legs in the air and arms behind the head. Coming with?

Our Italian friends Cosimo and Palma (those are their real names, how tropical can it get) danced with joy when we got real WiFi in their Villa Sandro. We were all immediately glued to our Airs. Not only for work but also to be with and to sympathise with Holland’s disbelief, rage and sadness caused by the air disaster (or should I call it an attack?)

Club Guna-beach made me, a bonafide Wifi-junkie (I believe I need to start calling myself one), very very happy. Bali, Ibiza and Brazil all rolled into one. Great big beds, a jacuzzi, a tropical sea where cool surf dudes, with or without kites, go flying in the air and obviously a good strong WiFi connection. Food served under shiny cloches, fresh watermelon juice and the perfect strawberry daiquiri. Bring me here and I couldn’t me happier. Really.

Now we’re beached in a resort (tenuta, as the Italians say) in Gallipoli. Need to adjust to being around other people again. Great fun but our daughters seem to have become a little disorderly from having their own house, where everything is allowed and an overdose on Pippi Longstocking. Eating spaghetti with their hands (if a pair of scissors had been handy, they probably would have cut it, just like their Swedish BFF) and walking black sandy feet all over the restaurant linen. Oh. What a job ahead of us.

My secret pleasure in Italy is reading the Chi. A kind of Paris Match but then Italian style, the summer editions are brimming with photos of stars that I don’t know, who have been ‘inseparable since December 2013’, and are glamorously cooing and cuddling on shiny yachts in the sun. I immediately want to know where they’re off to. It has to be Tuscany, Capri (so far no surprises) or Gallipoli. You know I have to go there now. I must say, I could so get used to this. You have to do what you have to do.

One more day here and then we have a wonderful masseria to look forward to. Outside shower in your room and hammocks between the fig trees. Already looking forward to it. You too?
