TWERKIN’ FOR A BIRKIN

For a moment she behaved a bit like Britney circa 2007 — you know, when she shaved her head and attacked a car with an umbrella and bulging eyes. She was twerking on stage with Robin Thicke at the VMAs, whilst sticking out her tongue for the full eight minutes. It was time for Smiley (as she’s lovingly called by her father) to revamp her image.

A strong fashion signature is exactly what a mediocre singer needs. And Miley knows this all too well. She weltered on the ever slippery fashion path. From thick eyebrows to light ones to none. Miley tasted it all. She went from dull long hair to a shorter coupe. Afterwards, she consulted a couple of male designers for some intimacy. Cavalli designed her world tour outfits, and she became the face of Marc Jacobs’s latest campaign. Usually, she looks incredibly hipsterish, beanie included. But she presented her chaste self at Jay Leno in a denim trousers and blouse combo from Saint Laurent.

But especially her W Magazine photos caused all the fashionistas to slide their oversized sunglasses to the tips of their noses. The cover looks like a mesh between Lady Gaga and Donatella, all of which seems to affirm her fashion image. We can hardly call Miley boring, though we’re happy that she went from a trashy to a more classy destination.
