HARDeST WoRKiNg fash girl

You’ll see her in perfectly styled outfits on the front row or she’s posing in front of the press at Lincoln Center in New York, the Grand Palais in Paris or on the Corso Venezia in Milan. Miroslava Duma is everywhere, and always best dressed. You’d almost forget she’s also got a husband, child, and a very successful company. A day in her life:

07:00 I wake up after only having slept for two hours (which happens quite often). I went to bed at around 05:00 after a fun night with the Louis Vuitton team at the Ritz-Carlton. Before this I was at the opening of the Stella McCartney store, and before that I was hosting an event at the Tsun store in Moscow at which I led a conversation with designer Mary Katranzou. I’m Tsun’s Digital Media Director, but it involves a lot more than inviting British designers to Moscow. I shower, wash my hair, and make porridge for my three year old son George, my husband, and myself.

08:00 I know quite quickly what I want to wear, but I’ve got to think about what to wear that evening in the morning too. If there’s an event, I usually go straight from work. I live just outside town and with the traffic jams to Moscow (especially when Vladimir Putin’s driving to the airport or the Kremlin, it’s absolute madness), it’s practically impossible to go home and change. My look for tonight’s going to be a red, lace Valentino playsuit with golden embroideries. I often get photographed which sometimes works rather misleading. People think I haven’t got a job or that I’m a model, both of which aren’t true. I work really hard and feel uncomfortable in front of the camera. But I do like clothing, that I do. My day outfit is going to be black trousers from Vika Gazinskaya, and a double breasted white jacket from Proenza Schouler.

09:00 I’m climbing in my SUV, which is my driving office. I change outfits, have three phones (one of which always goes off), and I’ve got WIFI in it so I can Skype, mail, do everything.

10:00 I arrive at the office where a lot is changing. We form a team with 35 people. All freelancers are spread out across the world. We have a meeting today about formats, special projects, and other activities about to happen this week.

12:30 Back to the car for a lunch meeting with Buro Production Company with who we joined forces recently. They hosted, for example, the Dior show on the red square, and the Chanel Numéros Privés exhibition.

14:30 I’m going to the Vogue café for a meeting with the owner Arkady Novikov to discuss a new café concept with a fashionable twist.

15:00 I talked with the director of cultural charity foundation Peace Planet. I mostly focus on the upcoming charity dinners during which the best Russian directors will showcase short clips they’ve made for the auction. We hope to collect a million dollars that evening.

16:00 I’m going to Tsun for a debrief meeting about yesterday’s evening. We really liked to have the Olsen sisters there because their brand, The Row, is new here, and we wanted to introduce them to our customers. Dolce&Gabbana is number 1 here, Gucci 2.

18:00 I’m changing in the car and went to the bachelor party of a girlfriend. We met at the Tverskoy Boulevard to which I always take friends from London or New York. It’s so old Russian, I’m in love with the place.

19:00 Usually, if I can skip something in the evening programme, I’m the happiest person on earth. But tonight sounds like a lot of fun. We’ve got a private box at the Bolshoi theatre and are about to see La Traviata. A surprise for the bride to be.

21:00 I won’t stay for dinner. No dances or drinks for me tonight. I’m going home to see George and my husband. We’ll play, read, and eat together. I’ll put George in bath, and put him to bed. He can already say: “Mommy, I love you till the moon.” And then I melt.

00:30 I pack my suitcases, set the alarm clock, and go to bed.

04:30 I’ve got to get up again and head to the airport. Next stop: Kazachstan, where we’re going to launch a Buro franchise.

07:00 Take off.
