First dance music

Okay, I’m going to bare my soul here. I’m going to get married one day. I know how and all the details. My dress, the invites, the dress code, the music, the dinner, the location. And oh yes, the ideal man. I also know that I want at least three children. Saturday mornings will be them all running around the house, breakfast table full and one will need to go to football practise (sorry no hockey), the other to ballet class and the other to swimming lessons. Yep, I can spend hours fantasising. Liesbeth sighs deeply when I share these dreams with her. I can imagine why but don’t be alarmed, I won’t be sharing them with the first man I meet because he’ll probably run away screaming.

To get into the mood a little, there is something else I’d like to share. My guilty pleasure. Wedding videos. I can spend hours enjoying them. And I sometimes even shed a tear or two. In fact, I end up sobbing by the first song. detrouwfilm.nl , abeautifulday.com trouwfilmpje.nl , theweddingfilmer.nl  I’ve watched them all.

Today I stumbled across a website with the most often played songs at weddings for the opening dance (nah, I haven’t been googling weddings or anything). Hup, plugged the speakers in so the whole office could listen with me. Celine Dion, Brian Adams, John legend, Elton John. Every song a little harder and Liesbeth singing loudly along with all of them.

I’m a kind person, so I’m sharing them with you too. These are slow dances okay. You don’t have to feel rhythm (can’t imagine marrying a man WITHOUT rhythm), but with this music and these dances you can’t go wrong. Hold each other tightly, you have to really hold each other, or do a classic dance stance with one arm around each other and the other stretched out into the air. You know what I mean? Look deep into each other’s eyes and waltz around from left to right. Oh god, here I go again with the tears. I told you I was baring all today.
