Once the editorial office heard that the sale had begun on net-a-porter, I’m sure you can understand that we were non-comunicative for at least half an hour. Liesbeth went surfing for high heels (the higher the better). May-Britt checked out the dresses and bags first and I was clicking through pages of flat shoes/sneakers.
I do have beautiful dresses hanging in my cupboard, really (by Paul Smith and Hugo boss are my favourites) and I do get excited when I see my Kenzo clutch and DvF heels, but my sportswear and sneakers make me so very, very, very happy. Perhaps a little unattractive and not feminine enough, but it is what it is. I might not be size zero (happy with myself though), but I can hold my own in the boxing ring, easily walk 15 km and sneakers suit me best. I’m quite tall, so with heels, bizarrely tall. Great for a dinner evening, but dancing? Whoa. And then (not unimportant) try finding a (nice) tall man.
Look, my love for sneakers and sportswear is endless. I would spend my last money on the newest Nike tights. Let me tell you something, they make doing sport a whole lot nicer and motivate you to get back in them and shine in the park or gym.
Now for the best news. Net-a-porter has come up with something new. Net-a-sporter. Yes, you guessed it. The very best outfits for the gym, jogging, swimming, yoga and tennis. And I’ve decided to take up tennis also, tomorrow.
