6 REASONS WHY WE’RE BEYOND EXCITED FOR NEW YORK

An hour doesn’t go by without someone squealing that she’s looking forward to New York, yours truly included. I’m going to devote any free moments during the upcoming days to thoroughly prepare our trip because we’re getting on the plane in exactly a week. New York is comfortably below zero, and last week, the city was terrorised by snow storms so this is less than great, but still. Who cares, really? So without further ado, here are the six things we’re looking forward to the most:

  1. Seeing Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl in real life. And perhaps even touch them. Just for a brief moment. And ask whether they want to adopt me. But if that’s not possible, we might just observe from a distance.
  2. See how all those rich New York socialites make their ways through the snow, brave 10 degrees frost in an outfit with bare legs and non-frizzy hair, no matter how hard the storm. Rich New York socialites don’t do cold and winter because this is so terribly common.
  3. Studying the frow etiquette from up close, analysing the slitted looks between row 1 and 2 carefully, and see where all those self-proclaimed, super successful bloggers are really seated. My guess, and in some cases fierce desire, is that they’ll probably sit somewhere between Starbucks and McDonalds three blocks away.
  4. Diane von Furstenberg’s show. Because: the best models, happiest show, delightful fashion, and the busiest frow. Afterwards, have a cup of coffee or glass of champ with Diane, and we’re happy as can be. Or is that mean?
  5. Shopping at Victoria’s Secret. Especially Jet’s looking forward to this because shopping for new outfits has become an even greater pleasure thanks to her detox and avid working out. The latter being something we do together since recently, every Tuesday and Friday at 07:30, but I’m really looking forward to shopping in general as I didn’t partake in the detox (going 17 days without wine is really not an option). May-Britt would also like to go shopping, and then especially at the pharmacy for sleeping pills. Right.
  6. New York in general. Whilst writing this, Alicia Keys’s ‘Empire State of Mind’ blasts through her MacBook’s speakers, giving me instant butterflies. I hear Jet saying that she’s so nervous though she doesn’t really know what for. Jet, I do know. It’s Neeeeeeeew York!
