Today, live from New York, I’m treating you guys to a smoothie. I bought this one at a very hip juice bar, but it’s so easy to make it yourself at home.

In between shows, Liesbeth and I went to the Juice Generation around the corner from the Lincoln center (THE place were most of the shows are held). I got slightly hysterical when I entered this shop because their menu was filled with smoothies I’d never heard of. And besides the well-known wheat grass, they also sold shots of ginger/lemon/cayenne pepper or aloë vera.  Everything just as healthy, energetic, and skinny. I wanted to taste everything. I chose a Kale Kolada, and Liesbeth an I love Watermelon, which was — as she put it herself — little more than an ice lolly, though still very delicious.

What do you need and how to prepare it:

Kale Kolada

  • Spinach
  • Kale
  • Young coconut (the water and a bit of pulp, which you can scrape out with a spoon)
  • Banana

Kale and spinach may sound a bit odd, and not necessarily delicious, but honestly: it’s di-vine.

I love watermelon

  • Watermelon
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Pomegranate juice

Add all the ingredients in a blender and mix. From New York, Happy Monday!
