Nike Fuel

– Update 1 –

As you already know, Jet and I are locked in a bloodthirsty, life and death battle to see who can win the most Fuel-points. The thing is attached to your wrist 24/7 and I can tell you, it is confrontational. Every hour it tells me if I’ve moved enough and more often than not, it’s a no. I usually spend most of my day behind my laptop, not much movement going on except for my fingers on the keyboard and getting up a few times to make tea.

And that is exactly who Nike is targeting. They told us that you sometimes see people running up and down stairs like crazy at the Nike HQ to try and make their points. A little odd maybe, but movement is movement is movement. Another thing, I’m pretty frustrated that it’s already crystal clear that Jet and her Nike-runners are going to win this thing. Yesterday evening, while I was enjoying a glass of wine and dinner, Jet had already been sweating in the Vondelpark for an hour with skipping rope. My wine drinking unfortunately could not compete. This morning she started her day off with skipping, so my lag is growing.

It’s very hard for a non-sporty type (me) to ever win against a sporty type (Jet). It is actually all about your individual movement, but still I like winning. Tomorrow we will write up a full report about our progress and the Fuel-diary we’ve been keeping. Anyway I’m off to shake my hand wildly for a minute or two.
