Autumn must-haves

My fashion-heart feels about to explode from excitement as I thumb through a stack of thick September glossies full of the newest winter collections and feel the end of the year closing in. Yes, I’ve suddenly had enough of all the summer outfits that excited me so just six months ago. An ankle length XL tweed jacket from Isabel Marant is on top of my list, but with September and October looming, I’m going for a look that is more fitting for the in-between seasons.

My must-haves for the upcoming fall:

Absolutely # 1: the Burberry Prorsum poncho. Sadly not with my initials, like the models in their show had. A blanket-poncho easily combines with everything so multifunctional. www.netaporter.com.

If I’m honest, I find the boots this season a a little tiring. For now I’ve fallen for a pair of open toed pumps by Olivia Palermo in collaboration with Aquazurra, available from 12 September on www.netaporter.com. Patience…

I’m in love with great big knitted jumpers. It’s fantastic that so many designers have added them to their fall collections. Knitwear is seriously trending. The army green mohair jersey from Isabel Marant is just perfect. Lovely and nonchalant and comfortable with a pair of jeans or a pencil skirt. Army green is a colour that you will not be able to avoid this season and mohair makes this jersey super soft.

I’m in the mood for a real no-nonsense bag. Practical and without too much fuss and nonsense. The Roseau from Longchamp is exactly what I’m talking about. I always go for the larger model so I can carry magazines and my laptop with me.

I ‘refresh’ my jeans every season. I’ve been addicted to Current Elliott for a few seasons now. Their denim feels soft and the sizes fit well. They sell them at the Bijenkorf. I think I’m going for a boyfriend model with slightly shorter legs.

Irresistible and a fashionable must for the fall: a statement earring. The one from Louis Vuitton or the more in-your-face one from Céline….I haven’t (yet) made up my mind. To be completely clear: you only wear one.
