Not too long ago you still had to invest thousands of euros in expensive add campaigns to promote your (fashion) brand, though these days, mostly fashionable personalities on social media seem to create a hype and the success of a brand. Street style photography, bloggers, and selfies seem to be the new way of advertising.
A fashionista who’s slightly exhibitionistic combined with good taste instantly becomes a very attractive billboard for brands and designers. It’s especially great if they can also write a bit (blogs), and are very active on social media. Bonus points if you get to sit front row at all the shows. Of course you’ll tell everyone at those events what and who you’re wearing. And the fact that so much clothing has been given to you doesn’t form a problem whatsoever.
Just like many of my fashion colleagues, I too am now addicted to the instagrams of Olivia (Palermo) and Victoria (Beckham), and Anna Dello Russo and Leandre Medine’s blogs. I send so I am, the motto appears to be.
Do you want to be or do you want to follow? Check these people out. They’re instructive and entertaining.
