PRADA BOUTIQUE opening

The buzz about the opening of a new Prada boutique on the P.C. Hooftstraat has been sizzling around the city for a while already. It’s Prada baby! It’s been open since 31 July but the official opening was on Thursday night, as in, with champagne, music, a notable guest list and lots of drinking kind of open.

About 5 hours after we landed at Schiphol from New York Fashion Week, I jumped on my bike and headed direction P.C. Hooft. Jet was already there waiting for me and since we hadn’t seen each other in a while, this opening felt like a reunion. We walked in together, had a glass of bubbly and went wandering around the sparkling new shop. Spread over two floors, they have a ladies ready-to-wear collection and a shoe collection, and also men- and woman’s accessories.

The invitees included Bracha van Doesburgh, Eva Simons, Kim van Kooten and Jan Taminiau, all appropriately dressed in Prada. The fashion journalists were also there: Cécile Narinx, Fiona Hering, Hilmar Mulder, Cara Schiffelers and Karin Kuijpers, and us of course!. You know what it is about these parties, they’re always so much fun. You meet old acquaintances, get served champagne by Make My Event guys, the music is good, and most importantly, you’re surrounded by the most beautiful clothing in the world. What’s not to like!

For those interested in Prada, head straight for the P.C. Hooftstraat in Amsterdam. Don’t forget your credit card though and remember Prada is not for a moment, Prada is for life.
