premiere fun

When Cameron Diaz, Kate Upton, and Leslie Mann invite you to see their new film, you go. Even though it’s incredibly hectic at work. Jet and I stumbled inside The Building with our laptops still steaming. The place where we find solace when we need some seriously good hair. We quickly forked a lentil salad from Marqt and took the Uber to the red carpet.

Especially for the occasion, I borrowed a very great ensemble at MaxMara. A great, black, flaring skirt. A bit of a see-through top with a golden collar around the neck and wrists, and a coat that awoke something grand in me.

Rest on the red carpet

Because the Reguliersbreestraat was cut off, we were dropped off by the taxi around the corner. We made our ways through an enormous throng of people to even get to that red carpet. Where’s glamour when you need it? Once at the carpet, all there was was rest. Except for the continual flashing of the photographers. But hey, our hair looked great and our outfits too. Hit us with your flash.

Champagne and a lunch box

Because Jet and I, dammit, didn’t have a private box to ourselves but had to join the category of ‘could you please move over a bit’, we grabbed some champagne before entering the room. There a lunch box awaited us with some sandwiches and shrimps, Jan Kooijman and three adorable girls that tried to liven things up a bit with their folkloric performance. What should I say? We were happy when we saw Cameron, Kate, and Leslie on stage. Let’s say that.

The party Cameron

Cameron is just as funny and original in real life as in her films. And sweet because she allowed newcomer Kate Upton and Leslie Mann to get all the attention. I thought Cameron’s outfit was rather mwah. Short, black dresses shouldn’t be worn by the star of the evening. Besides, her knees looked quite forty plus. Her présence made up for a lot though, spring radiates off her.

Now for the film

Romcom in its purest kind. Three women, a man, vengeance. That stuff. But styled by Patricia Field (you know, the brain behind Carrie Bradshaw’s looks), the prettiest apartments and offices of New York, funny scenes with a funny cameo from Don Johnson. A great, everything’s fine film with lots of laughter. In theatres from Thursday onwards.
