Prolong that vacation feeling

– the best ways to keep your photos –

We got to enjoy a lovely post-summer week this week, but for the rest it seems as if summer really is over. Everyone back at work, schools have started and the vacation seems like months ago. You probably don’t look at the photos on your computer all that often either, so something has to be done. I love cutting and tinkering with photos, but for the fast, not so creative people out there, hereby some cool ideas in a row. Your holiday can now be closer than ever.

Blurb: for the professional

For the perfectionists among us, there is Blurb. This online tool helps you create your own professional photo album. Completely. You do need to know how to use Indesign and Photoshop though to use it. Once you’ve created it, you can print the book out on beautiful paper, with a lovely cover and using the best fonts. It’s worth it, to have something beautiful to look at.

Albelli: The harmonica booKlet

If you don’t have time to create a 50 page photo book, then this little pocket album from Albelli is ideal. you choose 22 of the best photos and voila you have an album. It’s a harmonica booklet so you can unfold it all the way.

Instagram

Now I can totally imagine that you don’t always carry an SLR camera around, and that you more than likely take quickies with your iPhone. The #mobileprint from HEMA lets you print all the photos from your phone on square Instagram format or in mini stretch format for normal photos. They are printed on thicker paper, with a gloss finish and come in a lovely little box.

 Magnet PHotos

Friends of mine often bring back those ugly fridge magnets as holiday souvenirs. Not very nice, but ‘it’s the thought that counts’. They’ve even started looking for the ugliest ones possible. To up the style factor, you could print personalised Instagram-photos (or vacation-photos) onto magnets through Via Martine. Just a little nicer and you’ll have fond holiday memories to look back on.

 The old fashioned Postcard

You make people happy by sending a postcard. It’s part of that traditional holiday thing, right? Send your photo via a mobile app, and Klepper prints it out and sends it on for you. So cute that you might even want to send one to yourself.

Poster candy

This one is perfect to enjoy everyday, you don’t have to haul books out of cupboards and they are easy to make: PosterCandy. You upload your photos and a collage is made automatically. You receive it in large format (think really big!), so you can hang it in your bedroom, office or wherever.

For the lazy enjoyer

Seriously no interest in spending time on making, editing or cutting and pasting vacation photos? Upload them as your background on your computer screen. At least you’ll be happy each time you sit down at your desk and see the photos. Also a good reason to clean your desktop up a little. When it’s full again, probably time to take another holiday.
