Fashion Madams! This is the ultimate style guide for a trip to Saint-Tropez. Choose vintage chic, the Brigitte Bardot look, or, why not, that easy kaftan.
When you’re reading this I’m probably already recreating in Saint-Tropez. Think: a tad glamour, tad decadent, having lunch at Plage 55 a tad too often, and a tad too much rosé. LOVE it. And my suitcase only has fashionably sound sets. Behold, the ultimate style guide for Saint-Tropez.
Vintage Chic. Think Brigitte Bardot in the 50s. A bit nonchalant and innocent. Wear capri trousers with a tight top during the day, of course matched with ballerinas. Or a wide skirt with shirt blouse that you’ll tie over your hips. Preferably wear white of soft pastel colour. Transport your bath towel and lotions in a big basket.
Print Extravaganza go all the way and mix different prints, like big flowers, ethnic, and exotic designs. Think of an over-the-top floral bathing suit. And do wear big, striking jewellery and flat sandals. Exotic prints (here are the prettiest fashion items with palms) have never been so stylish. Other prints like checkers and stripes too. The big trend this summer’s to combine different prints, which symbolises great taste.
The kaftan. The ultimate beach look’s of course the kaftan. Wear it on top of your bikini or when strolling on the promenade alongside all the yachts. This year, the models with ethnic embroideries and tassels are hot. But also ankle-length versions are hot. Choose for light fabrics like linen or cotton, and mind transparent fabrics. It quickly looks a bit tacky.
4 fashion and beauty tips for a beach holiday
- Leave your blow-dryer at home. Your dream hairdo isn’t sea-proof so just go for surf girl hair during your holiday. Choose a styling product that supports this look.
- Mind your makeup. Try a natural look. A bit of mascara, blush, and lipgloss will do.
- We assume you already know, but here it’s again: no high heels to the beach. If you really want height then choose for wedges.
- Choose light clothing. Cut in half denim shorts are for Mykonos or Ibiza.
