The Pirelli Calendar is coming!
I’m eating a ‘kletskop’ biscuit as I’m writing this. You know, one of those delicious wafer thin, crispy biscuits. I’ve convinced myself that they cannot possibly have so many calories and stuff, because they’re so thin, but don’t worry, I know the real truth. Oh well, the reason I started about them was because this Sexy Friday is all about the Pirelli-calendar. This year is the 51st edition and that’s quite something. The most beautiful and slimmest models (who definitely do not eat biscuits) will be showing off their worth in front of a legendary photographer’s lens, Steven Meisel. The styling is in the hands of Carine Roitfeld and that is a clue to the theme, because the most astonishing things are created wherever Carine is seen. This year the theme is Fetish, so think latex, whips, corsets and more of that type of thing. As I already said, only the greatest are being immortalised, like Adriana Lima. Or, let me think, Natalia Vodianova. Isabeli Fontana? Sasha Luss? Joan Smalls? I mean, the list continues.
Although I had to raise an eyebrow when I saw that Gigi Hadid was on the list. For those who don’t know her, she is the daughter of Yolanda Foster, one of the woman from the Dutch TV show Nederlandse Hollywood Vrouwen and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Gigi is a model and has done campaigns for Guess and a few others, but I had no idea that she had made it to being Carine Roitfeld’s muse (apparently she is) and therefore in the calendar. It’s all coming together in November and so a perfect Christmas gift for brother/nephew/boyfriend. Or for yourself, as motivation to go the gym.
Just finished another biscuit. Sigh. I’ll never learn. Anyone willing to buy the calendar for me?
