BUBBLES & HEELS
I received an envelop two weeks ago. From Shoebaloo. Their organised a great get-together at their Cornelis Schuytstraat location in Amsterdam for their well appreciated customers. ‘Did I buy that much?’ my calvinistic nature asked. ‘Perhaps let’s go and buy a great summer heel’, luckily, the true me spoke up immediately
CHAMPAGNE AND FIONA, THE BEST MIX
“Your colleague’s here too”, the nice doorboy said right away. I though he meant Liesbeth, but he was referring to Fiona Hering, my television colleague (and dear fashion friend, but the boy couldn’t have known that). In one movement I discarded the glass of champagne and put on a Prada pump on my feet.
OVERLY CRITICAL DEPUTY EDITOR VOGUE
Sweet Lieke van Lexmond sipped some water (because pregnant, and my oh my she looked stellar), Vogue’s deputy editor Rinke Tjepkema disapproved of everything Fiona wanted. “But it’s so Debbie Harry”, Fiona stammered. Yes, indeed, Rinke seemed to say with her look. Must be a generation difference. I thought Fiona’s finds were amazing. Luckily, my Prada heels were approved of my the overly strict Rinke.
BLAME IT ON THE PRADAS
Jetteke van Lexmond arrived flanked by the prettiest arm candy, her blonde and perfectly styled sons. It was a comings and goings of stylish types. Leontine Borsate arrived (I didn’t even have time to said hello, I blame the Pradas), and Carolien Tensen brought her other steady date: daughter Lot.
DROOLING NEAR THE BAGS
I left Liesbeth drooling (or foaming at the mouth, I should say) at the case with bags. I asked Fiona to keep an eye out and whisper encouraging words to Liesbeth in case she’d turn red and hyperventilate.
TAKE TO BED
I squeezed my eyes for a moment while swiping my credit card. Round off downwards, don’t think about it, put the shoes at the end of the bed, and dream about it.
