THE ANSWER TO ALL YOUR LINGERIE TRAUMAS

Did you know that 70% of women wear the incorrect bra size? And that 130% of women are made unhappy by trying on lingerie? Good, I made that last number up but the fact is no-one I know says “ha, let’s have a day trying on bras, can’t wait.” Trying on underwear is confronting business and almost nobody likes being stuck in an over lit, undersized change room, squashing their naked body into ill-fitting sets of underwear. Lingerie chain Lincherie believed it could be improved and invited Josselin and me over to find out the naked truth.

The ladies and gentlemen at Lincherie want to make selling lingerie into an experience, they want to help women get over their years of trauma caused by monstrously ugly and tiny changing rooms. The change rooms that Josselin and I found ourselves in were about the same size as my house, with a warm carpet, a table and stool and more than enough hooks to hang your things on, and very, very important a light dimmer! I love light dimmers. Anyway, you step inside in front of a 3D camera in your bare boobies, which has a camera inside that takes 140 measurements in less than a minute and then spits out an exact measurement report.

What follows is an extremely advanced iPad-system that shows everything available in the store that fits your body, then a stylist goes with you to find the perfect set. To help you choose something that suits your skin, your body etc. The mirror can take photos of you and project them later (know what I mean?) so that you can slowly look at everything afterwards. I chose out a gorgeous blue set from Andres Sarda that had me feeling quite Victoria’s Secret Angel-ish, and Josselin went for a classic black but very sexy set from Aubade.

I think that woman who struggle with their bodies and that have huge lingerie traumas will be made extremely happy by this store. A girlfriend of mine has a slightly heavier build with large breasts and she gets so frustrated by not being able to find a good supportive and beautiful bra. Sizes are always different, nothing fits well, everything cuts and basically it all turns into a disaster. Or someone who has lost a lot of weight or perhaps put on weight and does not know what size to go for, should go to this store.

For those who think that lingerie is way overpriced and far too expensive, I get you, it isn’t cheap. But you know, you feel far better when you know you’re wearing a cute set of underwear even if the goal is for his highness to pull it off as quickly as possible, still it’s great for the vibe. And stuff like that. Besides, May-Britt’s grandmother always said “child, you should always wear your best underwear, because you never know when you’ll end up in the hospital.” And so it is.
