Fashion

Part 2 of the ABC – the B cause that’s how it works. In just 24 letters you’ll get your fashion diploma. Are you taking notes?

Searching through the limitless landscape of lingerie, you’ll come across the balconette , which is my personal favourite. The push-up is sometimes too much (I don’t like my bust enormously hugely pushed up) but a regular bra is sometimes so shapeless. Enter the balconette. Ensures a decently gorgeous cleavage, can be worn without straps and is ideal for a shirt or dress with a low, round neckline.

The baker-check, Bridgitte Bardot-check – many names for the same cheery print. Well in my books anyway. I like wearing a check or two. The check has been used on everything from tea towel to shockingly expensive couture pieces. In French they call it the bébé-carreaux and in England they say gingham. Well that at least prevents any confusion during international shopping sessions.

You’ve probably heard someone try to explain what this is, “a little like a CHANEL-jacket”. Well that’s bouclé, a yarn threaded in little loops that creates a heavy fabric. Known far and wide because of the little Chanel-jacket, but found in many modern day collections.
