New juice in town

Oh oh oh, what to do. A brand new juice bar has just opened on the way to the office. That means I’ll have to leave a little bit earlier everyday to grab a juice on the way. Nathalie Streng, owner of the place, lived in New York for a while and was impressed by all the fancy cold pressed juice bars, and decided it was high time that Amsterdam had one. In principle it’s a juice bar but the juices are made in a slow juicer instead of a regular centrifuge juicer. A totally different story because all vitamins and minerals are preserved. The warmth that comes from a centrifuge juicer causes a certain loss of nutritional value. Aside from juices, there are salads on the menu and raw wraps made with spinach and coconut with hummus. All to go.

The fridge is full of freshly squeezed juices. Each bottle contains at least 2,5 kilos of fruit and vegetables. If you have a bigger appetite, you can order a smoothie made to order. I got a little dizzy looking at all the good things on the menu. The smoothies have really funny names like: The Sh*t, TDF (To die for) of The Super Nova. “The Power Breaky” was recommended to me. “My god, so delicious. Cashew milk, banana, strawberry, coconut yoghurt, dates, nut butter and a seed mix. Do I need to say more? See you there?”
