The coolest old movies to watch over again
You might end up having a hangover moment this weekend and find yourself on the couch. Maybe not wanting to watch Sex and the City again, so may I give you a few movie tips? You’ve probably seen them all but they stay fun to watch and remind us of before and a trip down memory lane is always a party. So without further ado, the coolest old movies to watch over again.
Mean Girls (2004)
Perhaps the most fun movie ever made and the quotes in this movie have become part of our culture. “Get in loser. We’re going shopping” for instance. Or “on Wednesdays we wear pink,” “stop trying to make fetch happen” and “yo go Glen Coco!” of course. Mean Girls is the best. Period.
10 Things I Hate About You (1999)
Wonderful high school classic with the popular kids against the losers, strict dads and a plot that proves that good is sometimes bad and the other way round. And, Heath Ledger on your screen, the memory of him is reason enough.
How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days (2003)
It was on TV recently and man oh man, this is such a pearl. She (Kate Hudson) needs to, for an article she’s writing, treat the man she’s dating extremely badly for 10 days and do all sorts of things to him, while he (Matthew McConaughey) needs to simultaneously try to make her fall in love with him in those 10 days. They obviously don’t know about each other and it all comes out at the end, big crisis of course then love and oooh it’s all so predictable and wonderful. Also, Matthew McConaughey is just ridiculously wildly attractive in this movie.
The Parent Trap (1998)
When Lindsay Lohan was still small and cute and when she starred in two roles. Remember? The one twin lives with the mother, the other with the father, they meet at a camp and decide on a plan to get their parents back together. Not easy of course and 127 minutes of cliches and bad jokes follow, all hugely enjoyable.
The Wedding Planner (2001)
You can’t het sickly-sweeter than this, and Jennifer Lopez is extremely irritating after thirty minutes but that does not stop the fun. You already know from the first second exactly what is about to happen and that is sometimes exactly what we need in life.
Two Weeks Notice (2002)
Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock in the same film is already a party. And no, that is not the spoiler, that’s what happens in this type of movie. He is a lawyer with expensive suits and a wealthy life, she works for him and feel under valued and resigns. Only then does he realise what he’s missing and can you feellll the love already?
You’ve Got Mail (1998)
I’ve seen this one like three thousand times and yet I still enjoy it. Maybe seeing all that stuff from the stone age makes it even more fun. I can’t give too much of the plot away because it’ll ruin things if you haven’t seen it yet, buttt something to do with love (duh) from an unexpected place. See it!
