I am hopefully lying somewhere in front of an open fireplace (mine I hope) by the time you read this, with a few kiddies next to me (mine I hope) and a really lovely man (ditto) who has just poured a glass of Amarone for me.

I have two children sleeping next to me as I type this, the washing machine is going and Jort is explaining Exactly How It Should Be Done in the background. Groceries are ordered online for Saturday and I’m preparing for an event that I’m hosting tomorrow.

I only slept five hours last night because we stayed at the Mercur’s Gala till the lights went off and I just finished a lightening visit to the launch of Wendy van Dijk’s 360 degree platform called Wendy.

Esteemed ladies and gentlemen of the Mercur’s, the launch of the year 2015 has been announced. This party was a spectacle. Humberto Tan presented (obviously had some time over…), I saw Dinand, Estelle, Nicolette van Dam, Herman den Blijker and loads of friends from the business like Marie-Nanette Schaepman (the creator or JAN) and Esther Goedegebuure (the woman that now runs JAN). Curious no doubt but just as full of respect as I am for someone launching something big and new these days.

The December weeks are always full of exciting and fun events. It started with the Tiffany’s Thanksgiving drink and continued all week. Estée Lauder Companies opened their doors on Tuesday to raise a glass to the future and all the good things planned for the new year.

The day after, our girlfriends at Chanel created a ‘pop-up’ Chanel world in the middle of the Jordaan in Amsterdam. We hovered above a new perfume (one of the Exclusives, those heavenly fragrances that are only sold in boutiques), received a hand massage with their Sublimage product line. Yes, they are meant for the face, but what is good for the head is perfect for the hand. And we chatted. About the bodies of the ladies in Rio, the wardrobes we’d all love (from Ikea with bag and jewellery compartments) and of course about the Paris-Salzburg-collection and which items we’d love to have.

The make-up artists gave us a complete makeover so we were totally ready for the Mercur gala later on.

And yes, I know that I’m jumping from thing to thing in this diary. Please forgive me, it’s my current state of mind. Must be the December days.

A wonderful week to all of you, keep your head up and your heels high,

May
