The week began with a critical look at the September issues that are already starting to come in. We have to wait patiently until August 25 for Harper’s Bazaar (and oh oh oh there are rumours that Lara Stone will be on their cover too, besides that of Vogue), but Vogue and ELLE were already taken apart on Monday and Liesbeth started a battle for who has the best September issue. Who won? Find out here.

We don’t get the opportunity to grab a cup of coffee often enough, but Jetteke van Lexmond is always inspiring and loads of fun. She is very busy with all sorts of cool styling projects and selling their jewellery line Lexmond vs Lexmond. And naturally a tiny bit worked up about the arrival of her new little nephew who will be making his appearance very soon.

I interviewed agents from the biggest Dutch modelling bureaus for our September issue. I visited Freek Koster of Touché Models. They will soon be moving office from the Herengracht canal to the Vossiusstraat, and so the boxes were already stacked metres high.

On Thursday I had lunch in the garden at Lions Noir with Sarah Keller from Paparazzi Models. This restaurant is kind of like a second living room, because it’s in on-Louboutin walking distance (that’s really close by) from their office. Lions Noir serves model sized portions so I had the large bulgur salad with grilled veggies. And hung on every word from Sarah’s lips, cause I love her and I want to work with her in my next life. Oh yeah, I cycled through the PC Hooftstraat on my way back and suddenly ended up with two new pairs of shoes.

Friday was fabulous Friday so I treated myself during a rendez-vous with Agnès, my dearest friend with whom I created marvellous magazines for years (first La Vie en Rose and then Marie Claire). Embracing the credo ‘combine the useful with the pleasant’, we chatted over a pedicure. It was more like combining the pleasant with the very pleasant. Only she forget to bring me the September issue of Marie Claire in all the excitement. So I’ll be buying it. Good task for the weekend. As long as it’s nowhere close to the PC Hooftstraat.
