The week began with a small kidnapping. I had been covertly busy with a Secret Project for a few days already. For your knowledge: a new office. No-one gets excited over nothing, so I wanted to have everything nailed down (figuratively speaking) before sharing the news. The neighbouring office had become available and it was too beautiful for words. The editors were all extremely curious so to tease them a little, I got them into my car with jackets over their heads. I drove two blocks around the complex, parked the car and pulled the blindfolds off in our new office. You had to see their reaction to believe it. From now on we’ll all be wanting to work weekends and nights.

The Ice Bucket Challenge, words that no-one had heard of a week ago but that now have everyone captivated. Liesbeth wrote a heavy piece about it because she suspected some famous peeps were using the wet T-shirt business for a bit of personal PR. That’s all well and good of course but money needs to be collected. In the end it’s all about collecting funds for ALS, remember?

So when I got nominated by Daphne Deckers (who had first generously donated and tipped a bucket of ice water over her lovely blonde head), we had A Situation on hand. What to do? Charlie Sheen’s video where he tipped a bucket of ten thousand dollars over his head seemed the solution. I drove to the bank, changed 100 euro into 20 cent coins and rained the money over my head. Clinking coins ultimately help more than wasted water.

My girlfriend Micha Emmering has been running her own modelling agency for years, called Micha Models. I remember when it all began. Always enthusiastic and radiant. She has now established herself as one of the agencies with the most beautiful girls. Prada, Gucci, Valentino, name a designer and her girls have been in their campaigns. We enjoyed an hour catch-up over a latte. To make plans for New York. I’m staying on 25th and she on 34th street. So almost neighbours. I’m excited.
